POKOTABI / Horumonsakaba
ホルモン酒場
A short walk from Keisei-Takasago Station, Horumonsakaba serves charcoal-grilled offal, a generous choice of pork skewers, motsunabe and fried rice with braised pork. This casual izakaya offers plenty to enjoy at approachable prices.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just a short walk from the south exit of Keisei-Takasago Station, Horumonsakaba is a casual yakiniku izakaya where diners can enjoy a varied menu of offal dishes without fuss. The selection ranges from meat cooked slowly over a tabletop charcoal brazier to skewers, motsunabe and well-regarded raw dishes—a tempting line-up for meat lovers.
The signature charcoal-grilled dishes focus on pork offal, including shiro motsu, kashira, hearts, pork skirt and kobukuro. Choose a sauce or salt seasoning, then grill each piece to your liking. If you are unsure where to start, the assorted platters of 3 or 5 pieces make an easy choice. You can also add richer options such as beef tongue with salt, shimacho and boneless short rib. Alongside the grilled cuts, pork skewers—including pork tongue, kobukuro and pork skirt—are available from 1 skewers for 130 yen, as are familiar yakitori. The variety makes it easy to sample several cuts, even when drinking solo.
Beyond the grill, motsunabe comes in a deeply savoury broth, with extra vegetables or offal available; ramen or rice porridge can round it off. For a lighter bite, try fried garlic or Caesar salad with crispy bacon. When you want something more substantial, the menu includes fragrant fried rice with braised pork, salt-fried noodles with pork offal and spicy yukgaejang gukbap.
Drinks include Hoppy in white or black, highballs served in mega mugs, Taco High and a range of sours—the sort of familiar choices that suit a casual drinking spot. With counter seating for an informal solo drink and tables for groups, Horumonsakaba is a relaxed, convenient place near the station for an evening focused on meat.
